By analyzing the pathways of Marine Power Strategy, this paper proposes that marine higher education, especially talents with marine knowledge and foreign language capabilities should be an integral part of Marine Power Strategy.Based on the characteristics of marine English courses, this paper conducts a survey of the course "Marine Technology English" among 60 students from Guangdong Ocean University, and analyzes the current status of the course from perspectives of motivation, learning strategies, course evaluations and learning effect, proposing suggestions to improve the teaching quality in the aspects of teaching aims, teaching methods, course evaluations and extra-curricular practices.
