To cultivate talents of “engineering mind, innovative spirit, internationalized horizon” with a clear thinking power, this work explores the effective path to ideological and political education base on the course characteristics of Mechanics in the College of Science, USST. Building a research and exploration team, we aim to enhance the teachers’ professional understanding of the ideological education. Given the phenomenon of “simple preaching” and “clear division” between knowledge and value education in specialized courses, this paper carries out an exploratory reform . The method of integrating ideological and political elements in teaching aims to avoid “simple preaching”, “clipping and blending” and “mechanically copying”. The research provides ideas and support for effective implementation of ideological and political education in the specialized courses.
