Abstract:This paper analyzes features and weaknesses of marine ESP teaching, explores blended teaching and assessment framework for the course “English for Marine Technology”: “online marine-related culture and language input, offline marine-related task simulation, online marine-related creative work display”. The study also investigates the effect of the framework with mixed methods, revealing that students’ learning efficiency, communicative ability and personalized learning ability are improved. However, novelty of learning materials and students’ digitalizing ability need further enhancing. In the end, advice such as establishing a digitalized resource bank to enhance students’ learning interest and improving students’ digitalizing ability to boost their individualized learning abilities are suggested in hope of shedding new light on the teaching of English for marine engineering.
