Abstract:In a broad sense, the tea culture in Hong Lou Meng covers four aspects, based on which tea culture is compared in Yang’s and Huo’s English version. In linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions of eco-translatology, it is found that the differences between the two versions of tea culture translation mainly resulted from the translators’ “adaptation” and “selection”. Therefore, the two English versions provide specific examples for tea culture translation in the theoretical study of eco-translatology from the perspective of translator and translation strategies and highlight the “translator-centered” translation behavior, which enlightens tea culture translation in the future.
