Abstract:Along with the rising strength of China ever since reform and opening-up, Chinese images in contemporary British novels have presented profound changes and have gradually been replaced by a series of new images surpassing the traditional polarized images under the influence of Western hegemony. The emerging Western non-fiction writing in the Second half of 20th century has also pushed some writers to turn to non-fiction writing in which the new Chinese images are extraordinary splendid, showing three dimensions of inheritance, criticism and transcendence. This paper mainly analyses the research of non-fiction writing at home and abroad and studies its traits and tendencies, so as to provide some references to build up a new discourse of Chinese image with Chinese style.
