Abstract:Hedda Gabler is representative of Ibsen's play in its exploration of the character and destinies of human beings. Through the conflicts between several narrative personalities under the narrative frame, Hedda Gabler is portrayed as a complicated character that arouses various interpretations. The image of Hedda as an absolutely self-centered tragic character is not only reflected in Hedda's subjective narrative of other people around her, but also revealed in their multi-faceted narratives of Hedda. On the other hand, the other characters in the play are presented more as positive images than a group of boring and vulgar people described by Hedda as one of the narrative personalities.
