Abstract:Eco-translatology defines translation as textual transplanting. The paper analyzes English translation of grammatology terms in Postface of Shuo-wen Chieh-tzu , and discusses the term translation about Chinese character construction and their unique forms. From the perspective of eco-translatology, not all the Thern’s term translation transplants successfully in the target-text context. Therefore, this work is improved with the help of “10-tion”. It is found that “source-contextualization” and “adaptive addition” can be used in translating the terms about Chinese character construction by adaptive selection in their sound and meaning. And “target-contextualization”, “adaptive addition” and other methods can be used in translating the terms about Chinese character forms for the sake of easy understanding. Besides, this paper discusses how to translate the general name of these terms according to “text-balancing scrutinization”, hoping the translation to “survive” even “live forever” in target-text environment.
