Abstract:“Chen Ai Luo Ding”, Alai's work about ethnic minorities in the border areas depicts the unique social life culture of Tibetan people in western Sichuan area before liberation, and it has been popular and highly reviewed among foreign readers after being translated by Howard Goldblatt. Since eco-translatology emphasizes the “survival of the fittest” and “harmony between man and nature”, it coincides with the ecological consciousness embodied in the novel. This study adopts the qualitative research method, and studies Howard Goldblatt's translation of “Chen Ai Luo Ding” within the three-dimensional transformation theory of Eco-translatology, exploring the effective factors in the English version. It is found that Howard Goldblatt's translation strategy is mainly domestication supplemented by foreignization so that the translation is easy to read and be accepted by the English readers. And his translation also reflects the exotic cultural charm, which promotes the dissemination of Chinese literary works. Therefore, it is a good reference for the translation of Chinese excellent literary works in the future.
