Abstract:Taijiquan manifests the key thoughts of Chinese philosophy, ethics, aesthetics, and culture of health care and traditional Chinese medicine. This paper argues that the translation and dissemination of taijiquan culture is an important part of presenting Chinese cultural confidence and of telling the Chinese story to the world in the new era, and that it is conducive to the communication and mutual learning among human civilizations, to building a community of common future for humankind, and to human health care. Therefore, it is urgent to think about the pathways for translation and dissemination of taijiquan culture in the new era. This paper puts forward the following pathways: participation of different parties in translation and dissemination; all-round, multi-dimensional translation; determination of the term translations of taijiquan; adoption of multiple strategies for translation; multi-modal and multimedia translation and dissemination; and cultivation of more qualified translators.
