This study attempts to build an assessment system based on student essential competence from the perspective of talents cultivating, and discusses its appliance to entrepreneurship training courses of energy and environmental innovation. The research findings indicate that the constructed assessment system, including assessment subjects, assessment methods, assessment indicators, and assessment results, can promote Chinese students’ gaining essential competences and maximize enthusiasm of teachers and students who are the two teaching ecological subjects strengthening cultivation of students.
