Abstract:Digital image processing is a new and rapidly developing discipline with rich content and profound research fields, as well as extensive applications. English texts on digital image processing exhibit distinctive linguistic characteristics. At the lexical level, there are many terminologies and semi-terminologies with various structures; at the syntactic level, there are many nominalizations and passive sentences besides formulas, equations or function expressions that represent the calculation process. This paper thoroughly explores the linguistic characteristics of English texts on digital image processing from both lexical and syntactic levels, and proposes corresponding Chinese translation strategies based on a large number of translation examples, aiming to provide references for the translation of similar texts.
