Abstract:Engels’ Dialectics of Nature is an important part of Marxism, it elaborates the dialectical relationship between man and nature and that the distorted relationship will result in ecological crisis. His ecological view explains the epistemic and social causes of ecological crisis, its profundity and foresight also lies in the means and ways of argumentation, which has important methodological significance for us to understand and interpret the theory of ecological civilization in contemporary China. Engels expounds his ecological view in five aspects. Firstly, the essence of labor mirrors the historical relationship between man and nature. Secondly, cause-and-effect is the epistemic root of ecological crisis.Thirdly, class differentiation is the social root of ecological crisis. Fourthly, dialectics can explain duality of human changing of nature. Finally, systemics expounds the harmonious relationship between man and nature.
