Abstract:Young teachers at the early stage of their career development in colleges and universities are under great pressures of inadequate practical teaching experience, tough beginning in scientific research and lower income. This paper analyses their pressures and needs of development, and summarized the factors affecting their development in the existing rating systems in terms of system design, evaluation subjects, evaluation methods, application of evaluation results and feedback of communication. The evaluation system should be constructed with consideration of the needs of society, school and young teachers. Suggestions are proposed with regard to value orientation, top-level design, evaluation methods and application of evaluation results. We are looking forward that young teachers, under the guidance of the new evaluation system, can maintain vitality in their long-term career of teaching and research so as to provide a strong support for promoting education modernization and building a country of high-quality education.
