Abstract:The integration of case teaching and ideological and political education has become an important trend in curriculum teaching research and practice in Chinese universities. Through observing and comparing the exploratory practice of the “Lighthouse” ideological and political case teaching in the “Government Economics” course (including such stages as illustrative citation, scenario-based discussion, and online-offline integration), this study finds that the modern “Lighthouse” — the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System is a typical ideological and political case that embodies both the theoretical elements of the traditional “Lighthouse” and the spiritual connotations of the new era. The teaching effect evaluations from teachers and students not only indirectly confirm the importance of case selection and organization in achieving the objectives of ideological and political case teaching, but also reveal the necessity of keeping teaching methods up-to-date and adapting to students’ individual conditions.
