Abstract:Based on CiteSpace visualization technology, this article presents a bibliometric analysis of 594 documents on maritime terminology translation (1996-2023) retrieved from CNKI. The findings are as follows: 1) articles sharply increase since 2011, and most institutional authors come from universities of shipping and maritime; 2) current studies on maritime terminology translation of are mainly related to practical translation; 3) the skopos theory and the functional equivalence theory are the research hotspots and will continue to be; 4) unfortunately, research perspectives and methods appear not to be diversified; 5) there is insufficient correlation between keywords of different clusters. The bibliometric analysis reveals the current hotspots and trend in maritime terminology translation in China, thus, a valuable reference for future research in this field.
