Abstract:The Three-Body Trilogy centres on futuristic technology and notions, introducing technological terms in a fictitious advanced technological worldview. This study categorizes 68 technological terms into four groups: technical tools, characteristic organizations, astronomical physics, and socioanthropology. This study highlights four key strategies of their English translations: literal translation of the original term, use of English specialized vocabulary, selection of terms based on their characteristic roles, and use of word roots and affixes. Studying the translation of the technological terms helps to publicize Chinese science fiction worldwide, boost national confidence in cultural exchanges and integration.
