Abstract:Chinese traditional culture in contemporary British literature is an important part of the overseas writing of Chinese culture, and it is also a new path to explore how Chinese culture can be better communicated abroad. The new narrative and aesthetics of traditional Chinese philosophy, classical literature and folk art in contemporary British literature are fully illustrated with the cross-cultural research methods of influence study and parallel study. Contemporary British writers have portrayed traditional Chinese culture with originality and diversity. Chinese culture has become a basic element of contemporary British literature with its “Chinese characteristics”, profoundly influencing future British literature with its unique Eastern aesthetics for the world. With a deep understanding of Chinese culture in contemporary British literature, we can fully disclose its new values of cross-cultural dissemination in the era of globalization, from which we could explore strategies for coexistence in a multicultural society and better inherit Chinese culture and write it down for this era.
