Abstract:Poetry is the quintessence of culture, and traditional Chinese poetry, as the essence of national culture and the symbol of national spirit, is a successful example of the international dissemination of Chinese culture. Focusing on the translation of Chinese poetry in the English-speaking world, this paper discusses the dissemination and reception of Chinese poetry in the English-speaking world in the new era, as well as the influence of Chinese cultural elements on English literary creation, especially on the evolution of poetic prosody in the Anglo-American poetry. It argues that the English translation of Chinese poetry in the new era has made remarkable achievements, especially the collection of translated Chinese poetry in the “Library of Chinese Humanities”, which has played a unique role in the mutual appreciation of Chinese and Western civilizations, marking a new glory in dissemination of Chinese poetry to foreign countries.
